Hi, I'm Martijn.

I've spent nearly two decades building software - and, just as importantly, making sure it keeps working after launch. I started as a developer and grew into the roles around it: architecture, quality control, requirements engineering, CI/CD, test automation, infrastructure. Most recently I've been building production AI/RAG systems at enterprise scale. That full-lifecycle view is what I bring to every project.

My heart is in Laravel - it's the stack I'm fastest, sharpest and happiest in, so it's what I lead with, with the rest of the delivery craft included because I can't help myself.

I work independently. When a project needs a specialist I don't cover, I bring in someone I trust - but you always deal with me directly, never a faceless agency or a junior you didn't hire.

I run my work through my Dutch company, AXYR Media B.V., and work remote-first with clients across the Netherlands - on-site when it matters. Remote-first keeps overhead low - fair rates for you, focused async delivery without meeting overload.

What working with me is like: clear scope before we start, honest communication if something changes, tested and documented code, and a clean handover. I'd rather tell you the uncomfortable truth about your codebase than sell you a comfortable fiction.
